THE stage is set for an epic double header of sprintcar racing at the Perth Motorplex this Saturday and Sunday nights.
A stellar field of 37 sprintcars have nominated for the two nights of racing where the WA-based AHG Sprintcar Series and the World Series Sprintcars series collide for an epic showdown.
And there is plenty on the line for drivers who are involved in either points battle.
James McFadden is in the box seat for back-to-back WSS championship victories but Jamie Veal, who has been his main rival all season, will be pulling out all stops on both nights to peg back the gap in this weekend’s series grand final.
In the local series there were three rounds remaining – two this weekend and one the following weekend at Bunbury – and it shaping up in a race between two-time defending champion Brad Maiolo and Jason Kendrick who is yet to win the series.
Spoiling the party in both points rounds is a big list of drivers who are intent on claiming feature race wins.
Current national champion Kerry Madsen flies back to WA from America this week and maintain the excellent strike race he has with the Perth-based Keneric Racing.
Former WSS and national champion Brooke Tatnell arrived in WA last week from his American base and will be keen to improve on his fourth placing at Bunbury last weekend.
It would be a brave person to pick a winner this weekend with so many different scenarios likely tbe played out.
Make sure you are trackside on both Saturday and Sunday nights to see how it all unfolds.
