ONE driver who will be worth watching in the combined World Series Sprintcars/AHG Sprintcar Series rounds at the Perth Motorplex this Saturday and Sunday nights will be American Carson Macedo.
He impressed race fans with his solid performance at Quit Bunbury Speedway last Saturday night, taking third behind Jamie Veal and James McFadden.
It was his first look at the Bunbury track and this weekend he will get to see the Motorplex for the first time as well.
Macedo made up some good places in the latter stages of last weekend’s feature race after being locked in some spirited duels with former national champions David Murcott and Brooke Tatnell.
He said he struggled with the car set-up early in the night and with qualifying.
“That sort of put us behind the eight ball,” Macedo said.
“It’s really hard to win these races from beyond the second or third row.”
Macedo said given the quality of the field it was hard to get a win and he was happy with his podium placing last week.
“It’s one thing to catch a guy but to pass him, it’s much harder.”
The American said he was enjoying racing at tracks he had never been to before.
“Going to the Motorplex, it’s a whole different race track for me.”
Despite the lack of track knowledge that will not stop him moving forward.
“We will keep charging on and hopefuylly try and take a win.”
Could that happen this weekend here at the Perth Motorplex?
Book your tickets online and we will see you trackside this Saturday and Sunday nights as see how it unfolds.
