Chris “Ballistic” Orchard is currently leading the Blown Class Championship at the Perth Motorplex after taking back-to-back runner-up spots at Burnout Boss & Motorvation with 2 impressive wheelwork displays.
When asked what makes a good burnout, his answer was Driver control which is not unexpected considering the way Chris drives.
Chris has been around the scene for many years having progressed from a Naturally Aspirated Monaro which was then upgraded to a Blown Injected Combo and campaigned for a number of events, before being parked up in favour of his new VL Calais which was purchased as a Roller from over East.
Chris still has the Monaro and by all accounts it will be back out smashing tyres very soon, but when the opportunity arose to purchase the VL it was then up to Eddy Tassone from Active Automotive to piece together a tough as nails 408 Cube Blown combo which would be destined for a life of abuse.
If you’ve seen Chris smash tyres you’ll understand he has no mechanical sympathy whatsoever and with a fearless driving style which has seen Chris win the “Best Wheelwork” award you can be sure he’ll be putting on a show at Burnout King this Friday.
Future plans for the VL are pretty simple and they involve more Boost and more Revs, whilst continuing to drive the wheels off at every event possible.
Chris would like to thank the continued support of Active Automotive & Kustom Panel & Paint.
