Speedway, Championship Drag Racing, Burnouts and more will resume at the Perth Motorplex in October with the release of the 2018-19 season calendar.
The season kicks off on Saturday, October 27 with the Shannons Insurance Powerpalooza, featuring Speedway, Drag Racing and Burnouts packaged up in a tight four hour show that will excite your senses and give everyone a taste of the season ahead.
All the usual attractions are locked in for another big summer of racing including the annual Scardifields Smash Repairs King of Kings in November, the WA Sprintcar Title/John Day Speedcar Classic in December, the USA v WA Sprintcar Speedweek clash over the festive period, the DiCandilo Steel City Late Model Nationals in mid January and the two-night grand final of World Series Sprintcars in February.
The Straight Line side of the venue will showcase local talent while welcoming back the big shows from last season. The second half of the season begins with the Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars returning to their traditional early January date, the “Big Show” Nitro Funny cars in February with our own local Outlaws Nitro Funny Cars., then the Aeroflow Nitro Hot Rods in March.
Perhaps the biggest news for our Sportsman racers is the three ANDRA Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Rounds in Perth, including the ANDRA Sportsman Grand Finals for the first time. Racers from all over the country will descend on Perth Motorplex in their quest to secure the coveted Number 1 plate for the 18/19 Championship Drag Racing Season.
The popular Summer Slam Series, launched last season, will be back along with those madmen on their Nitro Guzzling motorcycles plus many new cars and bikes in all your favourite brackets.
Three big Burnout Shows are planned with the Burnout Boss returning to October. Motorvation will see the second of the Burnout Shows in January and the biggest of them all, Good Friday Burnout King will close it out in April.
Of course the Formula Tech Performance Whoop Ass Wednesdays will be on every Wednesday night from September to May (excluding Boxing Day) with plenty of fun filled theme nights throughout the season.
