Ten thousand big ones will be on the line for the inaugural Burnout Boss event at Perth Motorplex this Saturday night and making sure he ends the season with a bang (hopefully two) is John Castrianni.
The owner of BLKFRYDAY is a regular on the Motorplex burnout pad and said he could do skids again and again if we would let him!
“The best part of a burnout is the adrenalin of the tip in,” Castrianni said. “And once you bang the tyres and jump out of the car it’s the cheer of the crowd that makes you want to go back again!”
With a supportive group of friends involved with the burnout scene, Castrianni reckons it was hard not to start.
“What got me into burnouts was the people that revolve around it. The Fordhold crew are like family, all helping each other out, and who wouldn’t like that?”
BLKFRYDAY is a Holden VZ SS ute equipped with the 5.7 litre LS1 and a built 400 Turbo transmission. It comes with all the standard mods like cam, manifold and exhaust – and of course the essential cooling system mods.
“It’s making a safe 370hp tuned by WA Performance, which gets her singing in top gear with ease,” Castrianni said.
Burnout Boss will be the last chance to have a hit out in front of a big crowd this season so Castrianni wants to bring his A-game on the night.
“My plan is a good fast solid tip in, have a party and put a good show on for the crowd – bang the tyres and drive off the pad on to the trailer!
“It’s my first season but I am coming third on the points overall so that’s all I can ask for. Goals of winning are there but you’ve got to have fun doing it and that’s what I’m all about.”
Burnout Boss sees skids start from 5pm this Saturday. Get a crew together, bring some blankets and beanies, and enjoy an awesome night out!
