The popular Shannons Nostalgia Drag Racing series returns to the Perth Motorplex on this Saturday February 16, 2008. More than 200 entries have been received for this event, eclipsing last years event by more than 50 cars!!! ENTRANT LIST AVAILABLE HERE RACE DAY SCHEDULE AVAILABE HERE PIT AREA LAYOUT MAP AVAILABLE HERE ADDITIONAL EVENT INFORMATION AVAILABLE HERE This event has quickly become one of the great events each season with it's laid back cruisy format, heaps of Street Rods and Customs cars not only on display in the paddock area but Drag Racing down the Perth Motorplex quarter mile. The now tried and tested format of 7 brackets for the series is beneficial to spectators and racers alike. The event flows nicely as scores of Street Rods, Aussie Muscle, American Muscle, Street Machines, Gas, Slingshot and Flathead V8 and Junior Fuel. Another feature of this event is the hundreds of Rods, Customs and Street Machines that are on show in the Paddock Area while the others are racing each other on the Drag Strip. You can also see these cars cruise 'the strip' during the tea break between Qualifying and Eliminations If you are looking for a great afternoon and evening of interesting cars and great racing... the Shannons Nostalgia Drags is the place to be... Brackets: Junior Fuel (JF) Open to mechanically supercharged and mechanically injected methanol burning Front Engine Dragsters, Funny Cars and Altereds. DYO Elimination Format. Gas (G) Open to mechanically supercharged and mechanically injected methanol or petrol burning USA or Australian Muscle cars and sedans only. DYO Elimination Format. Slingshot & Flathead V8 (SL) Multi class eliminator for Front Engine Dragsters and Altereds either 6 cylinder (any pre 1975 engine) or flathead Ford engines. Mechanically supercharged (roots type 8/71 maximum) or mechanically injected methanol or petrol only. DYO Elimination Format. Hot Rod (HR) Pre 1949. “Dial your own” Elimination format. American Muscle (US) Pre 1980 vehicles of USA origin. “Dial your own” Elimination format. Aussie Muscle (AU) Pre 1972 Australian produced vehicles. “Dial your own” Elimination format Street Machine (ST) Cars that don't fit US or AU, Cortina, Toranas, Commodores to VC, FAlcons to XF and Chrysler to CM. Some other vehicles reminiscent of the era may be acceptable. NOTE: Qualifying or Racing format may be altered or varied at any time by race organisers. No electronics allowed in any class, includes (but not limitied to) delay boxes, delay devices, 3-Steps etc... Transbrakes are permitted. All classes must have minimum of 6 entrants for the start of the first round.

.: Safety Requirements Purpose built race vehicles, cars quicker than 10.99 must comply with the relevant ANDRA Class and Safety regulations pertaining to the vehicle. All entrants must be fully licenced for the vehicle and vehicles must have a current technical inspection.

.: Other Entrant Requirements Licence. Divisional ANDRA Licence will be issued to those who do not need to hold a permanent ANDRA Drag Race Licence. You must hold or have held an Australian Drivers Licence.

.: Protective Clothing Helmets. All vehicles SLOWER than 10.99 seconds (1/4 mile) helmet to AS1698, 1974/1998 Standard. Long sleeved upper garment - Open cars must use Leather Jacket or Motorcycle Riding Jacket Long pants and Covered shoes

.: Your Vehicle Ensure all fluids can be contained within the vehicle. Tail shaft loops for cars running QUICKER than 12.99 seconds (1/4 mile). Minimum 3 point lap sash for cars SLOWER than 11.99 seconds (1/4 mile). Minimum 4 point harness for cars QUICKER than 11.99 (1/4 mile). Roll bars are required for open cars 11.00-12.99 (1/4 mile). All cars quicker than 11.00 must have full roll cage relevant to ANDRA specifications.
