He is one of the highly-credentialled drivers locked into the 20th Annual DiCandilo Steel City Sprintcar Silver Cup.
Gessner has won many headline races right around the country and is a former winner of the AHG Sprintcar Series, however he suffered major spinal injury when racing in Darwin in our off-season and has only just returned to racing.
He will take on the likes of newly-crowned AHG Sprintcar Series champion Brad Maiolo, along with Jamie Maiolo and Jason Kendrick who rounded out the top three for that series.
Other drivers in the field with a chance of victory in the 30-lap final include David Priolo, Ryan Farrell, Ben Ellement, Daryl Clayden, Lee Nash and Carl Dowling.
Also in the field is Lee Redmond who will be driving the #13 Wormall Motorsport entry.
Redmond has previously raced 360 Sprintcars but in recent years has been a serious campaigner in Speedcars.
His #52 Speedcar at this show will be driven by Dayne Kingshott.
Apart from the Wormall Civil Sprintcars, the show will also feature the Quest Apartment Late Models, Pool Shop Group Speedcars, TW Mechanical 360 Sprintcars and another round of the Carbusters WA Demolition Derby championship.
