AS far as a sprintcar rookie goes, Jamie Oldfield has been pretty impressive.
Not that this is a surprise to people who have followed him over many successful speedway seasons.
An accomplished racer in a few different divisions, Oldfield had a limited run in a sprintcar a handful of years ago, but nothing compared to the campaign this year.
He started out racing a 360ci-powered car this season and has stepped up to a 410ci motor in an effort to get in as many races as possible – and is one of the drivers locked in for the next sprintcar show that will be held at the Perth Motorplex on Saturday, February 10.
This will be round 11 of the AHG Sprintcar Series where Oldfield is currently third in points on 1628 points, trailing defending series champion Brad Maiolo on 1680 and Jason Kendrick’s 1636.
He has already claimed a top three feature race finish and enjoyed four heat race wins as well.
Oldfield is one of 24 drivers who have already nominated for the February 10 show that includes Brad and Jamie Maiolo, Jason Kendrick, Andrew Priolo, Ryan Lancaster, Ben Ellement, Daryl Clayden, Shaun Bradford, Kaiden Manders and plenty more.
