Damian Muscat is making the most of his Western Australian road trip with a win at the Goldenstates four weeks ago being backed up with a second at the Westernationals.
Muscat defeated Ben Stevens in the first of two ANDRA championship rounds that will be held this weekend for Top Fuel Motorcycle.
Meanwhile in Top Doorslammer, John Zappia holds top qualifying position with a 5.74, leaving from a 5.86 by Grant O’Rourke and a 5.88 by Mark Belleri. The third qualifying session had to be carried over to Sunday due to delays from oil downs sending the event into the curfew.
Sixteen drivers are chasing eight spots in eliminations, however those who miss that field will get to take part in a non-qualifiers shootout.
In Top Alcohol, Adam Marchant is showing some of his local talent, with a 5.67 leading the way right now. With engines struggling for horsepower in the hot and humid air, Marchant was able to hold his opponents at bay through two sessions. Like Top Doorslammer, Top Alcohol’s third qualifying session also had to be carried over.
Summit Sportsman Series qualifying is also in full swing, with many racers going under national records.
Sunday qualifying begins at 10.30am for the Summit Sportsman Series
