LATE MODELS SET FOR BIG SEASON

The Late Models will hit the dirt at the opening event of the Perth Motorplex this weekend.

Twenty four of the thundering Dirt Late Models hit the track this week for the first of what is set to be a massive season in the left hand monsters.

You can expect some great action with many new cars and a number of big names all hoping to notch that first up win and get off on the right foot with the track championship.

Making her debut in the division is one of the hottest female talents in the world, “Red Hot Roni” McCann; she has decided to make her way into these monsters to gain some much needed heavy car experience for her USA assault on stock cars.

And if you think she will sit back and let the boys sort themselves out, WRONG, she will mix it up with these guys for sure.

Current WA AMCA state champ Michael Holmes makes is debut in the ex Brad Ludlow Warrior.

Driver debuting new cars will be Mark Mathews, Phil Richards, Jay Cardy, Mat Goodlad and Craig Vosbergen whose car is something to be seen. The sign package on the TVR Rocket is in 2 pieces only and one of the most exciting race car graphics ever seen.

Current WA and Nationals Champ, Brad Blake, will again be a force but there will be a few surprises this season from other teams.

A few to watch out for will be Jason Oldfield who has prepared two cars & three engines for the season.

Oldfield is determined to knock “The 0 Show” off the porch as the big dog.

Mark Duncombe came into form at the end of last season and is looking to continue.

The 'Black Knight' Ryan Halliday came to grips with the GRT towards the end of the last Perth Motorplex season and is looking to carry that form into the new season.

'The Rocket Man' Craig Vosbergen has spent 6 weeks in the US in a brand new car getting ready for this season.

Don't miss the opening event of the Speedway season where you can witness the mayhem as Speedways metal monsters - the Late Models get their first taste of dirt for the year.
