 American Speedcar sensation Jerry Coons has returned to Australia to defend his title with no less than three other US drivers - Iowa standout Davey Ray, Mat Neely from Illanois and from the state that is synonymous with motor racing - Indiana comes Anthony Peterman joining him. |

| There are no less than 10 Interstate teams joining
in the fun and games this Friday and Saturday including Australia number 2 Mark Brown pictured above after winning
the inaugural Magic Man 34, Nathan Smee, Matt Smith, Rocket Industries Matt Young and Robbie Farr, who will be
doing double duties in his Speedcar and Sprintcar all from New South Wales. The banana benders are well represented with Todd Wanless, Ken Stanaway, Kelvin Hamilton, Jeremy Hassell, Brendan Palmer and Michael Harders along with sole Victorian entry, Harley Bishop making for a total of 19 visiting teams for the weekend. Facing them will be a strong West Australian contingent including Scotty Galzebrook, Todd Waddell, Neville Lance and Tom Watson senior. Throw in some wild card entries that could upset a few of the big names including Keith Giles, Rick Geneve, Jimmy Fleming and former West Coast Eagles full forward Troy Wilson making his Speedcar debut and you have the making of a great two nights of Australian Championship Speedway here at the Perth Motorplex. The support program on Friday night includes 360 Sprintcars, Super Sedans and Formula 500's. On Saturday night the Speedcars will be supported with the Watson Express Sprintcars (including eastern racers Daniel Reidy, Robbie Farr (doing double duties in both Speedcars and Sprintcars) Bryan Mann along with US driver Chad Blonde driving for the Kendrick 92.9 team. All in all - a sensational weekend - especially with the perfect weather predicted! |
