SENSATIONAL 9th PERTH MOTORPLEX SEASON

The 9th season at Western Australia's premiere Motorsports venue, the Perth Motorplex, has all the hallmarks of being the best ever. ANDRA Championship Drag Racing, Super Speedway including the confirmation that the 2009 Australian Sprintcar Championship will be held at Perth Motorplex, Fast Fridays, Whoop Ass Wednesdays, Motorvation, Burnout shows and the return of the Ray Baumann Stunt Show (that Bus has to go!) are highlights of the huge season of motortainment that has been planned. And if that is not enough the management team are hard at work planning several other high profile events to feed your need for speed! Following is a brief overview of the season ahead.

NATIONAL DRAG RACING The 9 event National Drag Racing calendar has a different feel to it this year with the Australian Top Fuel Championship round being moved to the first weekend of December. This date has been selected to maximise the number of teams that can travel to the Perth Motorplex with anticipation high for one of the largest ever fields of 500kmh Dragsters to prowl the Perth Motorplex quarter mile. The 37th annual Goldenstates featuring rounds of the Australian Top Doorslammer and Top Bike has been moved to the middle of November with the cooler air certain to produce great racing conditions. The Top Alcohol and Pro Stock Motorcycle Championship rounds are now in the last week of January. The Top Doorslammers and Top Bikes return for the 38th annual Westernationals to be held on the Labor Day longweekend. The Westernationals is also a round of the Rocket Allstars Racing Series attracting large numbers of Sportsman racers West in the hunt for championship points. Nitro Funny Cars feature twice during the season including a return to Boxing Day and along with USA Jet Dragsters and a healthy growth in the all Supercharged GT Radial Tyres Top Comp and Genie Exhaust Supercharged Outlaws means only one thing. It's going to be hot, hot, hot on the quarter mile at the Perth Motorplex.

SUPER SPEEDWAY If there was ever a time to become a Perth Motorplex Speedway season pass holder - then this is the season! 11 events over 15 days anchored by the news that the 47th Australian Sprintcar Championship will be conducted for the first ever time means that this season will be big, big, BIG! The 47th Australian Sprintcar Championship is so big that it will be held over three days. Wall to wall Things with Wings - just the way you like it! The 27th Sprintcar King of Wings returns over 2 great days along with the Australian Late Model Nationals and the auspicious Magic Man 34 (who can forget that great night last year) and four Demo Derbies. So if you like to flirt with dirt start circling the dates on your calendar for what will be one helluva season.

MOTORVATION 23 "Motorvation is my favourite weekend of the year". No, we did not say that. That is what we hear over and over as the tens of thousands who attend this great Street Machine and Castom Car Show tells us each year. The Elite Pavilion, Traders Alley, the Cruisin Bar, the Dyno Comp in Victory lane, The Sound Off up in Topside, the grass driving events (there are two this year!) on the Speedway Infield, the Car Balance, the Show n Shine, the Super Cruises, the Go-Whoa and Slalom on the Drag Strip, Miss Motorvation (mmmm Miss Motorvation....), MVFM98.8...need we say more? Well yes...BURNOUTS on the Hankook Snakpit. Ahhhh yes, Motorvation - January 2009.

BURNOUTS Don't you just love the smell of burning rubber in the evening! The Hankook Tyres Snakepit is in for another punishing season starting with the Burnout Masters in October. In January we crown the Motorvation Burnout Champion and end of the season with the ever popular Hankook Tyres Good Friday Burnout King. Burnouts, Burnouts and always more Burnouts here at the Perth Motorplex.

AUTO TRADER FAST FRIDAYS Sportsman Speedway and Sportsman Drag Racing returns for another exciting year of racing. On the dirt you will see the 360 Sprintcars headline the Fast Fridays along with AMCA Nationals, Street Stocks, Production Sedans, V8 Dirt Modifieds, Junior Sedans, Super 6 Sedans, for the first time NOS Sprints and for the bike fans the sideways action of the 500cc Speedway Motorcycles. On the straight and narrow there will be Sportsman for ANDRA Group 3 racers, So for the Speedway purist mark these 6 Fast Friday dates in your dairy now….

NOSTALGIA DRAGS With over 200 Street Rods, Aussie and US iron and classic drag racing machines the annual Nostaligia Drags is always a polular event. The Nostaligia Drags returns in February.

STREET RACING You want to try out the performance of your Street car in a safe and legal environment? Well the Perth Motorplex can fulfill your needs with weekly Street racing events every Wednesday night between September and May plus two Pro Auto Performance Hi Tech events, the Rev It Finanace All Bike Drags, Mystery Mondays and the Kwinana Performance Holden v Ford.

DECISIONS, DECISIONS... With so many events which ones do you go to? Well with a Perth Motorplex seasons pass you can do them all.
