DAVID Priolo made headlines for all the wrong reasons with a big crash in the Bunbury round of World Series Sprintcars last Saturday night.
The throttle was jammed wide open on the pristine W8 that was soon turned to junk when he crashed into the pits bend violently in a heat race.
Priolo was naturally out of the contest but has put together a new car that he hopes will make headlines of a different kind when the Grand Final of World Series Sprintcars is held at the Perth Motorplex this Friday and Saturday nights.
The second-generation racer tested the car at a Motorplex practice session on Wednesday night and he looked very fast.
Priolo will be looking to win another World Series feature race at the Motorplex – a pretty rare feat in itself.
Both nights of racing will also feature the Formula 500s, with a Freestyle Motocross show also part of Saturday night’s action.
