THE battle to the the next national champion revs up when the Perth Motorplex hosts the Australian 360 Sprintcar Championship this Saturday and Sunday nights.
A star-studded field has been assembled for the biggest meeting of the season for drivers in the 360 Sprintcar ranks.
At a lot of shows drivers will tell you it is just another show, but this one is different.
This one has the national championship up for grabs.
A strong South Australian contingent has made its way to WA for the event, expecting to play a serious role in the outcome after Sunday night’s feature race.
South Australians have featured prominently in the championship over the years and two drivers who go in as favourites are Chad Ely in the S22 and Luke Dillon who will be driving the W26.
Ely is a former national champion, taking victory in the 2013-14 bout.
Dillon also knows what is required to win the championship, enjoying victory in the 2015-16 season.
Joining them are fellow South Aussies Trigga Gates (S5), Jed Bell (S18) and Daniel Evans (S44).
Of course the local brigade is not exactly rolling out the welcome mat to the visiting drivers and will be doing everything in their power to ensure the title is won by a WA driver.
How will it all unfold?
Be at the Perth Motorplex this SATURDAY and SUNDAY nights to find out.
