ANYONE who has followed the racing career of Ben Ellement knows he is a gasser.
Previously in sedans, and now in sprintcars, Ellement is a master of his craft and is always a threat when he nominates for a speedway show.
And this Saturday night’s Westernapolis at the Perth Motorplex, that is round 12 of the Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series, is no exception.
While Ellement is not in contention for outright championship honours in the Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series, he is a serious threat for this weekend’s feature race victory.
He is ninth overall in the points and goes into this bout with one feature race win and a third under this belt from this season.
Ellement is also back in WA after he contested the Warrnambool Classic in Victoria a couple of weeks ago where he put in a stirring drive on the opening night of the three-night showdown, charging from the back of the pack in the A Main to finish sixth.
Ellement has clicked with car owner Mat Muir who works the spanners on the car and this is showing in the results.
The team will have its work cut out for this weekend with South Australian Brock Hallett and Tasmanian Jock Goodyer in the field, along with the return of two-time Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series champion Brad Maiolo for his first race meeting of the summer.
Add in drivers such as Jason Kendrick, Daniel Harding, Kris Coyle, Mitchell Wormall, Callum Williamson and Andrew Priolo who are all chasing championship glory and it is going to be another great Super Speedway spectacle at the Perth Motorplex.
Book your tickets online and we will see you this Saturday night.
