Perth Motorplex Sportsman Drag Racer Update
Perth Motorplex General Manager Kevin Prendergast today confirmed the following statement regarding Sportsman Drag Racing at the venue.
“Sportsman competitors have raised concerns over whether they will be catered for at Perth Motorplex this coming season, and I guarantee those racers that they will as Sportsman racing is very much a part of Drag Racing at the Perth Motorplex.
“We recognise giving everyone the opportunity to race for a championship and we have great plans for the Sportsman categories. But we have delayed any announcements as we are continuing to attempt to have meaningful discussions with ANDRA.
“While those negotiations are predominately Group 1 related, they may influence the final make-up of our racing package – the ball is firmly back in ANDRA’s court.
“Regardless, the Sportsman brackets remain a major part of our track program so dust off your cars, get them ready to race and we’ll see you at Perth Motorplex for the new season commencing in September as per the attached calendar.”
