Following the appointment of Gavin Migro as General Manager, Perth Motorplex is thrilled to welcome Veronica McCann to the hard-working team in her new role.
“We’re excited to add Veronica’s expertise to the team at Perth Motorplex. Her experience in both racing and professional environments will help us continue to grow and succeed. This appointment also strengthens our long-term strategy by providing a clear succession plan for managing the speedway. I can’t wait to welcome Veronica into the Motorplex, where she can start to learn all aspects of the Speedway and venue operations from our team”– Gavin Migro, Perth Motorplex General Manager
McCann brings with her a professional skill set developed over 15 years in the automotive and industrial safety sectors, where she led multiple high-performing sales teams to success. With strengths in strategic planning, customer service management, and process optimization, McCann combines her professional acumen with a motorsports career spanning more than 25 years.
McCann’s involvement in the automotive and motorsports industries began at a young age. She launched her driving career in Junior Sedans at Claremont Speedway in the ’90s, before moving into Sprintcars when Perth Motorplex opened in 2000. Over the years, she has earned several podium finishes in the SEG Sprintcar Series (now known as the Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series) and secured a Perth Motorplex Track Championship. McCann also briefly pursued a career in IndyCar racing in the USA before returning to Western Australia, where she continues to compete in the Pro Dirt Series and Late Model Track Championships at Perth Motorplex. She has also served as General Manager of Late Model Racing Western Australia (LMRWA) and Vice President of Late Models Australia (LMA).
“I’m really excited to take on this new role, combining my passion for speedway racing and my professional experience is something many people can only dream of. I can’t wait to join the award-winning Motorplex team and help bring more incredible speedway events to the fans and competitors” – Veronica McCann
McCann will begin her role at Perth Motorplex in October 2024. While working with the team during office hours, she will also continue her racing career in the Late Model and Formula 500s categories.
