While a handful of titles are already wrapped up, most brackets are still very much in play—and with valuable points on the line, every burnout, launch, and win light will count.

Champions Already Crowned

Some titles were decided early, as the curtain fell on three headline brackets at the Aeroflow Nitro Slam II on March 22.

  • Direct Mining & Industrial Top Doorslammer saw a true underdog story. In challenging conditions, none of the title contenders made the A-Final—but 19-year-old rookie Brodie Zappia held onto his narrow lead and walked away with the championship in his debut season. Hats off to the Zappia Racing team!

  • In the BME & Speedtorque Engineering NITRO MAX series, despite the “East vs West” battle format, it was Shannon Taylor in GRUMPY who sealed the championship, holding off Tommy Johnson Jr. and James Kemp (ANIMAL). West Aussie Matt Abel claimed the highest round points but couldn’t stop Taylor’s run to the title.

  • Top Fuel Motorcycle was all about Tony Wood, who claimed a dominant championship win after six rounds, finishing ahead of Travis Lorraway and Wayne McGuinness.

Mathematical Locks – Four Titles Already Decided

Four drivers have built such commanding leads that even a perfect performance from their rivals won’t be enough to dethrone them.

  • Cool Az Air Top Comp: Connor McClure leads by 155 points over Madison Brown. Even if Connor skips the event and drops the round, his margin is unbeatable.

  • Super Comp: Rick Johns has been untouchable with his Altered, leading Errol Quartermaine by 140 points.

  • Fridays Sea-Doo & Can-Am Competition Bike: Daniel Natalotto is in a dominant position, with a 160-point buffer over David Edge—well beyond the maximum 150 points available.

  • Specialized Tilt Tray & Towing Supercharged Outlaws: Kasey McClure cannot be caught, leading Peter Appleby by 162.5 points.

Brackets Still in Play – Who Will Rise to the top?

While some categories are done and dusted, the rest are wide open, with championship dreams on the line and permutations aplenty.

  • Top Sportsman
Yvette Gregg holds a 65-point lead over Jason Lippi. One clean pass in Round 1 might be all she needs to lock it in.

  • Elite Rural Detailing Modified Eliminator
A fierce head-to-head: Paul Garbellini leads Michelle Morrison by just 25 points. Michelle needs a win, and Paul must finish third or worse to swing it her way.

  • Chris Mills Performance Super Sedan
John Szabo leads Denise Downe by only 20 points, but don’t blink—Martin Mirco and Tyron Begg are also within striking range. A multi-way scrap for the crown is on!

  • Modified Bike
Ashton Kilvington leads Luke Seaton by 45 points. Luke must win, and Ashton would need to exit by the quarter-finals to open the door. Ian Read and Brian Hotker still have an outside shot.

  • Super Street
Steph Gullotto has a 65-point cushion over Lisa Garbellini. If Lisa wins the night, Steph must reach at least the quarter-finals to clinch the championship.

  • Junior Dragster
It’s nearly sewn up: Brock Ferguson leads by 110 points over his sister Belle. One trip to the elimination round locks it in.

  • Dragtech Fabrications Junior Drag Bike
Another tight fight: Ashton Kilvington leads Tyler James by 45 points, and needs a Top 3 finish in the Chicago Shootout rounds to keep the title.

  • Specialized Tilt Tray & Towing Outlaw Radial
Mick Wormall holds a 40-point lead over young gun Brock Moresby. Brock needs a perfect night—and Mick needs a disaster run in the points—for an upset to unfold

Beyond the main contenders, there are dozens more locked in battle for minor placings, personal bests, and hard-earned bragging rights. Expect fierce racing and passionate performances in every pass.
