Brent Vosbergen, the grandson of the late legend Bert Vosbergen and son of former WA Late Model Champion Craig Vosbergen, will be all fired up to become the first driver to go back-to-back in the WA Late Model Championship since brad Blake in the 08/09 and 09/10 seasons this Saturday at the Perth Motorplex.
Vosbergen claimed an emotional win on March 30, 2019 to get his first State Championship win at the Perth Motorplex just weeks after the passing of Bert Vosbergen.
He was all class all night, setting the fastest time overall in qualifying, winning a heat and coming second in the other to set up a front row start, then leading most of the thirty lap feature to claim the WA Late Model Championship.
Marc Giancola was runner up in the event with Warren Oldfield rounding out the podium.
Looking into the 2019/2020 season, Brent has two wins with one coming at Ellenbrook for the opening round of the Carbusters Pro Dirt Series and the other on November 16 at the Perth Motorplex for the King of Kwinana event.
In the most recent events being the USA Invasion Tour, Vosbergen finished fourth in the mini-series after two strong second place finishes in Albany.
However, the title fight this season will be one of the toughest with 31 drivers entered.
of those 31, Seven are former State Champions including Brent Vosbergen, Paul Stubber, Marc Giancola, Warren Oldfield, Ryan Halliday, 2-time winner Craig Vosbergen and 9-time Champion Brad Blake.
The field also includes current Australian Late Model Champion Kye Blight who is on a hot streak – claiming the last 6 feature wins for the Carbusters Pro Dirt Series!
Can Brent Vosbergen go back to back? Will we see a repeat winner or a new Champion?
Make sure you are trackside for the event this Saturday Night!
