Britton brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to Perth Motorplex, with previous experience serving as the Drag Racing Manager of Perth Motorplex from 2013-2017, plus experience at Sydney Dragway and other major motorsport venues throughout his career.
Perth Motorplex General Manager, Gavin Migro, said he was excited to welcome Rod to Perth Motorplex team to begin the 2026-27 Drag Racing Season.
“We are all very excited to have Rod joining the team here, his experience and passion for Drag Racing, Burnouts, and entertainment value is going to be invaluable as we see the return of Championship Drag Racing this season – with our brand new, world class racing surface!” Migro said.
Britton will commence working in the role immediately, as the Drag Strip Replacement project progresses towards completion, and the 2026/27 Championship Drag Racing season draws nearer.
“The drag racing scene in Perth holds a special place in my heart, and I’ve missed it since leaving in 2017. When it comes to major event presentation, I believe Perth Motorplex sets the benchmark in Australia. What I remember is being in awe of the people – the incredible teams, drivers and crews who filled the pits with colour and energy, and the officials whose dedication helped deliver such outstanding events on track (I might suggest they’re the best in Australia, but that’s just my humble opinion). I’m looking forward to playing my small part alongside the many passionate people who make these events happen.“ said Britton
