A Night of Kings
The 44th Annual Scardifields Smash Repairs King of Wings promises an EPIC night at Perth Motorplex!
It’s all about those things with wings — featuring the Opal Finance Formula 500s, Merv Woolford Limited Sprintcars, 360 Sprintcars, and of course, the main event: a 40-lap showdown for the Maddington Toyota Sprintcars!
Forty punishing laps of the Motorplex — with a pit stop! Teams and drivers will have to execute a near-perfect race to stand atop the podium and claim the $10,000 payday.
If last year’s 43rd edition was anything to go by, this one is going to be absolutely brutal!
The Contenders
Defending King Dayne Kingshott will be chasing history, aiming to become the first driver ever to win three consecutive Kings of Wings titles. But he’ll have his hands full with a stacked field of challengers!
East-coast invaders Luke Oldfield, Ryan Newton, and Jy Corbet are back at the ‘Plex, joined by Christopher Harrison from the Northern Territory, making his first Perth Motorplex appearance. Add in Kerry Madsen and James McFadden, both fresh from their USA campaigns, and you’ve got a serious battle on your hands.
Former Kings Daniel Harding, James Inglis, Jason Kendrick, and Brad Maiolo are also in the mix for Round 3 of the Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series.
And don’t sleep on the locals — Callum Williamson came agonisingly close last year, finishing runner-up, and he’ll be desperate to add the King of Wings crown to his already impressive resume. Meanwhile Kris Coyle, Taylor Milling, and Kaiden Manders have all been on fire in the early part of the season.

Frank’s Challenge
It wouldn’t be the King of Wings without a twist from Frank Scardifield! Known for his creative curveballs, Frank’s challenge for the 44th edition raises the stakes even higher:
An extra $5,000 goes to any driver who’s leading at the time of the pit stop and goes on to win the race — bringing the potential total to a massive $15,000 payday!
Here’s the catch: the pit stop will happen at a random point between laps 12 and 20.
The pressure will be on to get to the front early… and stay there!
“I can’t thank Frank Scardifield enough for his generosity and support for this event! I can’t wait to see this play out! With drivers scrambling to get to the front before the stoppage, and then stay there to secure the $15k at the end! Saturday night is going to be incredible for race fans to witness at the ‘Plex.” — Gavin Migro, Perth Motorplex General Manager
